What will you still care about six months into owning an Emira? Try a supermarket car park, a queue of traffic and a stretch of dual carriageway. Put a weekend bag in the boot. If you always drive with a passenger, bring them. Those are better ways to find out whether you’ll reach for the keys on an ordinary Saturday.
Owner discussions are useful for making a list of things to try. They don’t tell you how common a fault is or whether a particular car has it. Check the history and try the exact engine, gearbox and chassis you’re considering.
And leave a little time for a road you enjoy. It’s a sports car. It still has to make you want the long way home.
