The 420 Sport takes the four-cylinder Emira further. When Lotus announced it in May 2026, the company called it the lightest and most powerful Emira it had offered to that point. That tells you where it sits in the range. It doesn’t tell you whether you’ll prefer it to a V6 manual on a favourite road.

On a drive, pay attention to the first turn of the wheel, how easily the car settles after a bump and what the gearbox does when you leave it to choose. Try another Emira over the same stretch. If you also do track days, ask about the parts of the specification you can use repeatedly on circuit.
The photo shows a V6 for comparison. It isn’t the 420 Sport.
