{"id":2336,"date":"2011-12-12T21:00:12","date_gmt":"2011-12-12T21:00:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.seloc.org\/?p=2336"},"modified":"2011-12-12T21:00:12","modified_gmt":"2011-12-12T21:00:12","slug":"exige-s-mini-site-updated-gives-credibility-to-0-100mph-claims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/f.seloc.club\/w691\/index.php\/2011\/12\/12\/exige-s-mini-site-updated-gives-credibility-to-0-100mph-claims\/","title":{"rendered":"Exige S Mini-Site Updated, Gives Credibility To 0-100mph Claims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2337\" title=\"55643_117_0052_EMBER1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.seloc.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/55643_117_0052_EMBER1-300x201.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" \/>Lotus have updated the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lotuscars.com\/en\/exige-development-story\" target=\"_blank\">Exige S Mini-site<\/a> with more <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lotuscars.com\/en\/exige-owners\" target=\"_blank\">owners cars<\/a> and a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lotuscars.com\/en\/exige-nurburgring\" target=\"_blank\">new development video<\/a> showing the car undergoing on the test track at Hethel.<\/p>\n<p><span>Interestingly the video shows a standing start with the car being run to the redline in the first three gears, so we decided to try and work out the 0-100mph recorded in the video as some people have been doubting the sub-8s claims for the car.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Working from the <a href=\"http:\/\/wiki.seloc.org\/a\/Gear_Ratios_-_Evora#Maximum_Speed_per_gear\" target=\"_blank\">data in the TechWiki<\/a> the Evora S would be pulling 102.02mph at the 7000rpm &#8216;sport&#8217; redline in 3rd gear.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Exige S has the same EA60 gearbox with Sports ratios, but the tyre sizes are different (255\/35\/19 on the rear for the Evora, 265\/45\/18 on the rear for the Exige), meaning that the speed at 7000rpm in 3rd would actually be 107.36mph.<\/p>\n<p>Timing on a trusty stopwatch it takes a fraction over 8 seconds from dropping the clutch to the driver pulling 4th gear, so looks like the car is managing (or at least is very close to) the projected 7.9s to 100mph.<\/p>\n<p>Discussion: <a href=\"http:\/\/forums.seloc.org\/viewthread.php?tid=323874\">SELOC Chat &#8211; Exige S Mini-site updated &#8211; 0-100mph content<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lotus have updated the Exige S Mini-site with more owners cars and a new development video showing the car undergoing on the test track at Hethel.
